#Bitdefender uninstall tool fails code
What you can do is write down the error code that SCCM provides you about the Mcafee uninstall. Trying to suppress the reboot and no error occurs in SCCM. Test this in a VM please :) In my example I am treating 7zip as my Bitdefender

Now when the PC reboots it will know to install Bitdefender. In the properties of the Budtender application click the tab called Supersede. NOTE: Another reboot may occur after the install of Bitdefender.ġ. Uninstall MacAfee, client reboots, install Bitdefender using Supersede! :) Here is how. Completed alreadyĪdd Bitdefender and test its silent install.
#Bitdefender uninstall tool fails software
Lets say that my BitDefender software is called 7zip in my example.Īdd MacAfee silent uninstall switch. Good News: You can have SCCM install Bitdender automatically after the reboot that was performed from the MacAfee uninstall. So I guess my question is, is the reboot after uninstalling McAfee necessary and if not how do I surpress it? Is it getting instructions to perform the reboot from the xml file? I was passed the 2 files from bitdefender so I would like to know what their functions are and the best way to go about removing Mcafee and replacing with Bitdefender via SCCM. I realized after I posted that in a way, the push on SCCM is successful and doing what it's supposed to do but according to the logs, it fails because it needs to reboot and it doesn't automatically pick up where it left off the way Bitdefender's Deployment tool does. So to answer your question Jago Wu, yes the goal is to replace McAfee with BitDefender, preferably with no reboot. The Bitdefender deployment tool would be the first option in deploying bitdefender in our environment but I was asked to test SCCM as a secondary solution. Thank you dbeato , I had looked into those how-to's but they did not really help with what I'm trying to do. Sorry, I got pulled into another project and had to put this on the back burner. In the end, my question is how do I get Bitdefender to install with one click without having to tweak with the software center and run the installation more than once for it to be successful? I appreciate any advice y'all can provide. This time, I was given the option to install on the software center, so I ran it and sure enough Bitdefender installed successfully after this second go. Quick Google search stated that the installation was actually successful, however the program was not listed in Programs and Features and in this case, I got a little bit further with the folder C:\ProgramFiles\Bitdefender\EndpointSetupInformation getting created with content inside, so I rebooted the machine and Bitdefender was not showing up in my installed programs. Again, the Mcafee uninstall was a flawless success, but eventually the installation failed, citing Unable to make Changes to your software with errorĠx87D00324 (-2016410844). Next I tried installing on another computer that still had both McAfee products installed. This time there was no McAfee to uninstall and the installation completed successfully. So I removed the computer from my test collection and added it back, but was never given the option to uninstall so I had to reinstall the client and try the install again. On the first machine I tested, it kept indicating that the product was installed in the Software Center, even after rebooting but all I found was an empty EndpointSetupInformation folder in C:\Program Files\Bitdefender.

When I test the installation with SCCM, it successfully removes McAfee but it is not installing Bitdefender on the first go. Our old antivirus was McAfee Agent and VirusScan.

No requirements or dependencies are set and the clause is %ProgramFiles%\Bitdefender with the folder set as "Endpoint Security".
#Bitdefender uninstall tool fails windows
I added the Windows 64 kit from Bitdefender to my file repository (both the installer.xml and epskit_圆4.exe files) and created an application in SCCM using the following installation program:ĭistributed the application and set deployment to my test collection. I'm still fairly new with SCCM so I'm not entirely sure what logs I need to look at.
#Bitdefender uninstall tool fails 64 Bit
I have Config Mgr Current Branch 1702 and am trying to push BitDefender via SCCM to computers with 64 bit Windows 7 Pro. I use this community all the time to find solutions to problems I am having, but this is the first time I haven't been successful in finding something to help me out.
